Real Estate

Real Estate - Real Estate.

This is the album you've been looking for if you miss the 90’s. To seek that sunny feeling of bliss and innocence you've felt long ago living in the suburbs. In my eye, the best time to be a kid. The debut surf rock release of Real Estate gives listeners that great feeling of being outside on a summer day lying in the grass at 8 years old. The sound is great. A cross somewhere between the light and dreamy Gish era 'Rhinoceros' vibe the Pumpkins gave us in '91, and a more current project called 'Ducktails', where the whole lo-fi sound-through-a-tin-can sound comes from (if you dig this sound I highly recommend picking up Ducktail's Landscapes.)

Real Estate is as light and dreamy as it gets without making the audience nod off. Everything is present hear to keep you're attention throughout the entire album. The rootsy waltz "Black Lake" will remind listeners of an early Modest Mouse track. My personal favorite "Fake Blues" is a good place to start if you’re not used to the sound.

Everything about this album will remind you of the simpler childhood time of the 90's. That is if you are someone who found happiness in sugary cereal for breakfast, early morning Nickelodeon cartoons and pogs.

If you’re past your teen years and are looking for some nostalgia, pick up Real Estate.
